St Andrews Symphony Orchestra Presents: 'The Planets'
Time & Location
About The Event
St Andrews Symphony Orchestra is excited to present Gustavo Holst’s ‘The Planets’. Composed between 1914 and 1916, the iconic suite consists of seven movements, each representing a different planet of the solar system and its analogous astrological character. This diverse work embodies the individual demands that each instrument encounters within the orchestra - we are excited to tackle this challenge. St Andrews Symphony Orchestra is also thrilled to perform alongside the fabulous soloist Chris Flynn in Paul Mealor’s ‘Euphonium Concerto’ - a passionate contemporary work inspired by a Gaelic poem of forgotten love. It is set to be a wonderful evening.
